Inventor Vs Performer Vs Optimizer

WHAT are all these? How are they different?
I dont seem to be getting anything that they seem or say in the online things.

There are all scene graph from SGI for different applications.
Inventor is kinda general.
Performer is for visual simulation, while Optimizer is for CAD/CAM.
Of course you can use each of them for other applications.
You can find more information about these APIs on SGI’s website.
