Hi, i have a big problem with doom 3 and openGl. My video card is ATI FIRE GL 8800 with the last available driver. Please help to solve.
The error message is:

It appears you are stuck with the MS software OpenGL implementation. Are you entirely sure that the ATI drivers are installed correctly because it doesnt looks like they are.

Yes i’m sure, i’ve installed them more than 10 times, and i also have formatted my hard disk… but after that nothing has changed…
What is MS implementation? Is possible to solve it?

1st) The MS software implementation is a fallback solution. It does everything in software, therefore is extremly slow and only supports OpenGL V1.1 functionality.
2nd) What you could do is start->run->regedit
And then goto:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WINDOWS NT/CurrentVersion/OpenGLDrivers

Can you tell us what subfolders there are and list their content.

So, i go in the subfolder on regedit. This is the content:

Looks good to me, could you check if the file “Atioglgl.dll” is located in the “System32” folder?

Yes it is. Is a 6.3 MB file. There are many other files named ati*.* in the system32 directory.

Hey, i solved it!!! Thanks to all for help, at the end i find what is wrong. I have an application running in background that probably use opengl and so create a conflict with DOOM 3. This application is MATLAB.
Closing matlab background application everything work fine!

i seriously need any gl drivers. I reinstalled quake3arena and it didnt work, it had worked perfectly before, i didnt change anything. Can anybody help. I need tha latest gl drivers…plzz
