Using an older nvoglnt.dll with 81.95 drivers

I received my 7800 GTX 512MB card yesterday, but the only driver version that supports it is 81.95. Unfortunately 81.95’s GLSL is buggy and doesn’t work well with my application.

I’ve been using 81._8_5 on my 6800 as a temporary fix, but I don’t have that option now.

I tried editing the nv4_disp.inf to support the new GTX, but Windows gives me the horrible BSOD with STOP error on boot.

I used expand on the nvoglnt.dll in the 81.85 drivers and placed that dll in my System32 directory, but the NVidia drivers complain that there’s a version conflict.

What else can I do?

Well deserved answers for messing with system driver files  now let’s look at this from another side:

What exactly is not working? (You should ask that part on the GLSL forum.)
