Has anyone had any experience with the using an older matrox millenium (4mb, PCI) card with OpenGL in linux? I know that the G200 is supposed to work, but I am wordering if the older card that I have will still give me a chance to experiment with the API, even at sub-standard performance levels.
I have the GLX libraries setup to load with XFree86 3.0, and it seems to load Xwindows loads without a hitch. However the application is using SDL/OpenGL to open a window displaying 3D objects, which compiles and runs but will not write any openGL calls to the SDL display window.
Can anyone give me some insight as to whether or not the arichitecture of my older card is very different from the that of the G200 board?
