Hi @ll,

I solved this problem.
In XFree86.config-4 the option “AGPMode” “4” was enabled. I turned it back to “1” and now it works.
Has anyone an idea why I can’t let anything else than ‘1’ enabled?

Thanks,
Lev

Could be your card can not handle AGP set at 4X speed.

Hi,

this cards normaly works with AGP 4x.
Have a look at: http://www.matrox.com/mga/deutsch/products/tech_info/marv_g400.cfm

So, what’s the problem of my card?

Greets,
Torben

and your motherboard ??

have you tryied 2x mode ?

what tell you cat /proc/xxx/agp ?

whell on nvidia cards this is /proc/drivers/nv, but this may be placed somewhere else in /proc for your card/

This will tell you what your card supports and what your motherboard supports.

hope this helped

Hi jide,

my motherboard is a Gigabyte-GA71X which has a 4x AGP.
I trieded 2x-mode and my computer hang up.

I have no /proc/*/agp. Can I search somewhere else?
In the usermanual of the mb and gc are described that they work with agp 4x.

Do you have an idea?

Thanks,
Lev

well… in fact, what do you call rt-Linux ? your kernel seem a normal one.

check your matrox doc for knowing where info are stored in your pc… normally it’s in /proc/something.

Have you got any mean to disable your acceleration ? if yes, just try this way firsT.

: i don’t think I could help you more, anyway you could repost here in order to give as most info as you can.
