Using an OpenGL window as Windows wallpaper

Hi all!

I would like to put a windows full-screen opengl window behind the icons and start bar so it appears as wallpaper…

I’ve seen programs displaying like that in the ‘root’ window under linux x-windows - is it possible to do this in windows 9x? And would it interfere with foreground opengl applications?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

This might in fact be possible. I think you may have to write it as an ActiveX program that can run in IE. Then set your desktop to view as a web page and set it to use a web page that uses your ActiveX control. I have no idea how the icons would behave though. I bet it wouldn’t be pretty. Hmm, I think I’ll set my desktop to use a Wild Tangent demo and see what it does. Stuff is gonna 'splode.
