Your video card appears to be missing one or more features required to run Call of Duty.
You should install the latest drivers for your video card, being sure to uninstall the old drivers first. If you already have the latest drivers, you should completely uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. This fixes most problems. If the game still doesn’t work, it may be that your video card does not have the minimum features required. Please check the readme for more information, including a list of supported video cards.

You use an integrated 3d chip that is not supported by the game (and never will be, no matter how many drivers/patches you install) because it lacks the hardware support for certain 3d features that are required to run COD.

This is not an OpenGL or driver related problem, its a problem with some data files for the game.
Did you install a game mod or something like that? Because it looks like that causes the trouble.
If that isnt the case some data files got corrupted somehow and reinstalling the game should fix that.
Hey,I got this problem while trying to run Call of Duty…the funny thing is,mine is a new laptop, with a nVidia GeForce 4 Go card, and it was working alright…one day,I loaded MATLAB 7,and the next day,I got an error in Matlab saying ‘could not query opengl’…then call of duty came up with this message…I tried reinstalling the drivers too,bu it didnt work…what should I do??

Thanks qwerty, but is there no other way without me uninstalling Matlab?? I do need to work on Matlab now,and I cant uninstall it…I tried reinstalling my graphics card drivers,to no avail…

Lets put it this way:
If everything worked fine before you installed matlab and everything is screwed after you installed matlab, its pretty obvious who is the culprit and no that is not the driver.
I did a little research and found this at the MathWorks website:
So disable the freaking matlab webserver and see if that helps.
(Why on earth do they manually load the MS software OpenGL implementation at startup? Guess that happens when you let a bunch of PHD do the coding)
Yeah, the problem’s fixed now…Call of duty runs fine…Thanks a lot, qwerty,I did what u said,to disable Matlab web server…I had been informed that web server might have been the culprit, but I didnt know how to disable it…Yeah, and Matlab was the culprit alright…Well,if they didnt let PhDs do the coding,we might have had more problems with Matlab, dont u think?? Thanks once again…

Nope! They are very good doing algorithms but most of them suck when it comes to implementing them and dealing with the more “technical” stuff.
