Pixel Transfer

A Pixel Transfer operation is the act of taking pixel data from an unformatted memory buffer and storing it in an object governed by an image format. There are a number of functions that affect how pixel transfer operation is handled; many of these relate to how the information in the memory buffer is to be interpreted.
