SPECviewperf 12, released by SPEC’s Graphics Performance Characterization group (SPECgpc) on December 18, 2013, is an all-new version of the worldwide standard for measuring graphics performance based on professional applications. SPECviewperf 12 measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL and Direct X application programming interfaces.
Elementacular is an OpenGL based plugin for Autodesk Maya. The project is designed to make it easy and fast to create stunning visual effects. The newly announced Barco MXRT-7500 is a high-end display controller for medical imaging. It uses the AMD FirePro W7000 core and adds medical imaging OpenGL specific driver enhancements. Compared to the previous generation, the MXRT-7500 achieves, on average, a 34% performance improvement on 2D benchmarks and a 28% improvement on OpenGL 3D benchmarks.
