Latest OpenGL Windows Drivers for GeForce FX5500 to use with mrViewer?

    Hi,

Am new to OpenGL driver availability for older NVIDIA video cards?

First, I recently read about mrViewer 4.0.2 https://www.downloadcrew.com/article/35076-mrviewer Since it has a steep learning curve, would like to start using the video player features with a P4 64Bit PC with WinXP.

    Problems
    1. mrViewer only runs on Win7 and up. Am able to install Win7 on this PC so the real problem is finding OpenGL drivers for old NVIDIA cards.

    2. Have a GeForce FX5500 that hope to use OpenGL v4.6 https://developer.nvidia.com/opengl-driver "GeForce 500 series: GeForce GTX 590, GeForce GTX 580, GeForce GTX 570, GeForce GTX 560 Ti, GeForce GTX 560 SE, GeForce GTX 560, GeForce GTX 555, GeForce GTX 550 Ti, GeForce GT 545, GeForce GT 530, GeForce GT 520, GeForce 510"

    3. Have checked NVIDIA's website https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/5753 but only found "Version 175.19 - WHQL Release Date Mon Jun 23, 2008 Operating System Windows XP File Size 36.88 MB"

    4. To date have been unable to find any OpenGL DownLoad site for any Windows or even Linux v4.6 drivers for this older GeForce FX5500 card.

    Appreciate any help!!!

    Thanks

    Ken

The GeForce FX5500 is not from the same hardware generation as the 500 series: it's much, much earlier.

The GeForce FX series dates to 2003 and only runs OpenGL 2.1 at best.

The GeForce 500 series dates to 2010 and is OpenGL 4.6 capable.

You will never be able to run OpenGL 4.6 on this GPU.
