If you’ve really got the latest vendor-provided drivers installed, that’s probably all you can do. But you/we can at least sanity check that your GPU only supports OpenGL 2.1, not 3.1+.

As to your specific GPU… Saying you bought an “HP Pavilion” is like saying you bought a “Ford” car. It doesn’t imply a specific hardware spec, as its a generic name prefix slapped on a bunch of specific models.

To find out which specific GPU you have, you can probably just look under “Display Adapters” in “Device Manager”. Show “Properties” on it, and report what you see there under the General and Driver tabs. I’d also check which CPU you’ve got and report that, as you’re probably running with the GPU embedded on-chip in the CPU (Device Manager->Processors). Alternatively, I’d recommend downloading CPU-Z and GPU-Z to help determine which CPU and GPU you have (note: CPU-Z reports the GPU under its Graphics tab).

From that you can determine what the latest OpenGL version Intel graphics drivers support for your GPU.
