    Post Temperature coloured diagram

Hello, I am wanting to make an application that will take temperature values, and display the information graphically.

The idea is that five temperature sensors will give the temperature to the computer(from an rc plane) and then at each temp sensor display a colour. When flying, it will be easy to get an idea of the temp, and also have the temperatures displayed numerically. How can I do this? I need to have a diagram of the plane with these temperatures over the top. Googling for something to do this has proved difficult (at least for me) because the word diagram is used for flow charts.

I want to know how this can be achieved, if there is something that exists or if I have to make it from scratch.

Try googling on height maps - just think of the temperature at a point as a height
