Bumpmapping with NV_rehister_combiners

HI
Got a question.
I wanted to implement the dot3 bumpmapping using NV_register_combiners etxension.
Looked at some samples and discovered that this neads two passes and stores the result from the first pass in alpha buffer.
But can’t init it ( GF 256 SDR ).
the glxinfo output looks like this.
So is there any other way or I messed somthing up ?
Using SuSE Linux 7.3 distribution iwth newes NV linux drivers ( 1.0-2802 if I’m correct )

I guess that you want a alpha channel in your backbuffer? If you look at the available visuals is RGBA=5+6+5+0 so you have to increase the color depth to 24. This will get you visuals with RGBA=8+8+8+8.

Notice that you have to use GLUT_ALPHA since GLUT_RGBA is just the same as GLUT_RGB if you are using GLUT.
