    Where Can I get good .rgb for sky & water

    Almost finished porting my simulation off IRIX to OpenGl and not satisfied with the .rgb I have found for texturing sky and water, or grass or urban areas for that matter. Any suggestions?

    I see that FlightGear uses what appears to me to be a rather complex system, which I would rather not learn.

    If you are asking for textures

    then try

    they have some nice textures. How to do the texturing to make it nice and sweet is another matter. Those can be used as base textures.
    an open source GLU replacement library. Much more modern than GLU.
    float matrix[16], inverse_matrix[16];
    glhTranslatef2(matrix, 0.0, 0.0, 5.0);
    glhRotateAboutXf2(matrix, angleInRadians);
    glhScalef2(matrix, 1.0, 1.0, -1.0);
    glhQuickInvertMatrixf2(matrix, inverse_matrix);
    glUniformMatrix4fv(uniformLocation1, 1, FALSE, matrix);
    glUniformMatrix4fv(uniformLocation2, 1, FALSE, inverse_matrix);
