    Real-Time audio/video processing?

You've seen those cool WinAmp visual plug-ins...what are my options if I had a live audio source (a band) and I wanted to display cool graphics in real-time? Thanks

It depends on what you want to do with the sound. Display a VU-meter, an osciloscope, a sectrum meter, beat detection?

Whatever you want to do, you will probably need to do some sort of spectral analysis, and then I would recoment getting FFTW .

Wow Bob, what an enlightening experience this is. This stuff is really cool. I haven't installed the binaries yet, but thanks for the info on that site!
