Official OpenGL Extension Registry

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if the registry on SGI is now dead and I should rely only on http://www.opengl.org/registry and point me to some news/announcement about it?

In the OpenGL faq, section 23.010 points to http://oss.sgi.com/projects/ogl-sample/registry same for the following article: http://www.opengl.org/resources/features/OGLextensions/ Some project like glew also point to this SGI webpage.

However, the wiki (http://www.opengl.org/wiki/index.php/OpenGL_extensions)
points to http://www.opengl.org/registry.

When I compare the versions of glext.h on the SGI site and the one on http://www.opengl.org/registry there are different and the one on the SGI
site looks out of date. Googling around, I did not found any official announcement saying that the following address http://www.opengl.org/registry
is now the canonical one.

I don’t think there is a seperate announcement for the URL change. They just changed the links leading from the main site, but it seems they missed some

But http://www.opengl.org/registry/ is definitely the official registry. The one at SGI is outdated.

There was an announcement on the front page long a go, so change it in the Wiki immediately.

Yes, the old SGI registry is dead. Unfortunately I was unable to get the SGI webmaster to setup redirects on the old site after the layoffs last year, but there was an announcement posted . If you can point to specific pages on opengl.org that link to the old registry, I’ll ask the Khronos webmaster to fix them.
