GFX Help

I have been playing Counter-Strike for along time.

One day, I was tempted to mess around with my config.

I installed a registry item, to fix the XP mouse bug, aswell as disabling Vsych

I am not sure, but I think this messed with my GFX.

When I’m in 3d games, my game stutters from time to time. I have tried turning Vsych on/off to no avail.

I am using a Geforce 4 mx 440-SE.

My FPS in counter-strike drops from an almost constant 100fps to 20-60 whenever it feels like it. It does this in other games too. Even if I lower resolution, or FPS I have the same problems

I have installed updated drivers, to no effect.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks

edit

And running in OpenGL mode

Uh… don’t do that unless you KNOW what you are doing.

Have you tried a clean reinstall of your video drivers? (No, I don’t mean a reinstall, I mean a CLEAN reinstall).
www.guru3d.com and download Detonator RIP or something and follow the instructions.

Ive used that programme, my ingame textures are alot more sharper (like they used to be)

Thanks

however my game still stutters at certain moments, but as bad as before though.

Any ideas on what it could be?
