    That's not a spec bug. Deprecated means "flagged for possible future removal". Deprecated does not mean "is already removed". gl_FragColor and gl_FragData are still present in the Core profile, but...

    That is excellent advice, please do that. If you don't, you'll get version 1.10 by default and the GLSL compiler will fall into different code paths.
