What exaclty are you trying to achieve? Just calling a random OpenGL function won`t produce anything meaningful.
To actually see it do something, you have to call multiple functions in the right...

Unlike OpenCV, OpenGL does not contain immediate picture loading or saving routines, so you have to implement them yourself when you need them. The details on how to achieve this will largely depend...

By the way, does the GPU really issue a «true» lookup when dealing with a buffer texture?

According to what I`ve seen in the code above, the color doesn`t need calculation since it`s static, and that gives you many options: you may pass it via uniform, you may use glDrawElementsInstanced...

If I understand correctly, your task is quite similar to mine, and the technique you may need is per-polygon (per-rect in your case) attributes.
What version of OpenGL do you intend to use? The ease...

Just a side note.Is this really what you want from the second triangle? 3, 3, 2 looks like a degenerate triangle which may or may not look like a line, depending on renderer.

According to official docs, there is no difference if your bitmaps` width is even.
TL;DR: this invocation tells OGL to assume each row of application-supplied byte data to be aligned, since aligned...

Naturally, some work has to be done to upload fresh data into the texture. But compared to per-pixel attrs, it`s 4 times less redundant data going through the video bus per frame, and also no CPU...
  14. Anything better than textures for per-polygon attributes?

Is storing polygon attribute data in 2D textures and fetching them from a vertex shader an optimal (fastest, most compatible, least VRAM-consuming, etc.) approach in OpenGL 2.x when typical data...

Actually, reading image files into textures is not a part of the library: there are no standard OpenGL functions that, say, take an image path and return a texture ID. So, you are to either use some...

This is definitely a typo. The correct function is called gluPerspective.
WRT other functions, your project seems to be lacking opengl32.lib and glu32.lib in Project → Link → Object/Library modules.

    There`s a simpler alternative.
Draw your model on a clear Z-buffer and save the resulting Z-buffer to a texture. You now have a depth mask of your model.
Now load it into a pixel shader and...

    Yep.
Firstly, you should add glutInit(&a, v); right before glutInitDisplayMode. Secondly, there`s no such thing as glOrtho2D. What you need is called gluOrtho2D.

Let`s get this straight. The only thing you know is two sets of object coordinates relative to their respective centers. OK.
How come you don`t know where your objects` centers reside?
