    HI

    I notice that as soon as i put in the following line in my compute shader code, it slows down. Does anyone have ideas as to why?

    L1 cache and system memory split

    Hi

    Under Cuda, on a per-kernel basis, one can split the local memory (64KB) on a fermi in a 16KB/48KB or a 48KB/16KB format at runtime through the use of
    cudaFuncSetCacheConfig() function.

  5. using shared memory on the Streaming multiprocessor

    Hi

    I have implemented code in a way that stuffs certain lookup values in the shared memory, so that the rest of the threads do not need to look up the same values from global memory.

    barrier() stalls which threads

    Hi

    I thought barrier() waits till threads/invocations in the local workgroup come to the same point i.e. Only threads in the same local workgroup are effected.

    Am I wrong?

    Does barrier...

    value on gpu (check from cpu)

    Hi

    I am pondering over a fast way to do a check for a value on the gpu.
    Since cpu-gpu back and forth data transfers are expensive, I was wondering what is the fastest way for the cpu side...
