Using OpenGL on Windows RDP

Hi, as you know, when running OpenGL on Windows RDP, the search find threads with the following conclusions:

  • it doesn’t work
  • use VNC

By the way, I could find that OpenGL seems to work on client PC connecting to virtual machine with Windows RDP. According some website, because Hyper-V and RemoteFX was used on virtual machine. We can know some requirements to achive it in bellow:

However, I could run OpenGL on my client PC (any OS) connecting to the host PC (Windows10) directly without Hyper-V and RemoteFX! Then, it did never work when connecting Windows7 host PC.

[Question]
Why could I run OpenGL without Hyper-V and RemoteFX? Is there any required setting for this? Does Windows10 support OpenGL on RDP generally? Could you please kindly answer my question if there is someone knowing about this as well.

The system configuration of my client PC and host PC is shown bellow:
[Host PCs]

  • Windows10 version 1511, 1607
  • Intel HD Graphics 520
  • OpenGL version 4.4

[clientPC]

  • Windows7
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • OpenGL version 4.0
  • and any PC

We would like to run the application requiring OpenGL on Windows RDP.
