So, this appears to be a common issue, without any explicitly listed solution available (at least, from what I've searched/found).

Anyway, as soon as I run gDEBugger, I get this:

1171

Of course, I immediately thought "Oh! Just symlink it!"

Which lead me to:

devnode1 lib64 # locate libGL.so
/home/amsterdam/bin/gdebugger/spies/libGL.so
/home/amsterdam/bin/gdebugger/spies/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib/nvidia-304/libGL.so
/usr/lib/nvidia-304/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib/nvidia-304/libGL.so.304.88
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1.2.0
/usr/lib32/nvidia-304/libGL.so
/usr/lib32/nvidia-304/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib32/nvidia-304/libGL.so.304.88
devnode1 lib64 # ln -S libGL.so.1 -S /usr/lib/nvidia-304/libGL.so

And resulted in:

devnode1 lib64 # pwd
/usr/lib64
devnode1 lib64 # ll
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 2 root root 10 Apr 10 2013 libGL.so -> libGL.so.1
devnode1 lib64 #

Yet, I'm still getting the same error.

Any ideas?

Doh! I totally had the path orderings reversed in the command.

It should be:

ln -s /path/to/file /path/to/symlink

Sorry!
