When Out of Memory Error happend in our application program of OpenGL, we could run another application of OpenGL.
And then we checked the video memory size by VRAM checker utility, it showed one third of video memory consumption on nVIDIA graphic board(1GB).
So I wonder whether One Redering Context has a limit of amount of Texture size, such as one third of video memory on board.
I would like to control this feature by OpenGL Extention, like Adobe After effects. But I could not find any OpenGL Extention of nVIDIA.
Could you tell me how to cotrol this feature ? :o
As a reference of this issue, I quote the following from Adobe.
Render with OpenGL (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/aftereffects/cs/using/WS3878526689cb91655866c1103a4f2dff7-79e8a.html)
To modify the amount of texture memory,
choose Edit > Preferences > Previews (Windows) or After Effects > Preferences > Previews (Mac OS), click OpenGL Info,
and enter a value for Texture Memory of no more than 80% of the installed video RAM (VRAM) on your video card.
