State of OpenGL Extension loading libraries! Sad..

Can someone please explain to me why Khronos Group hasn’t taken this over yet? I mean GLEE is not updated anymore, GLEW is somewhat buggy, and if their are others I have no idea about them as they can’t be to popular… Please if anyone from Khronos is listening please drop this suggestion at the next meeting.

Thanks!

Because the Khronos Group doesn’t write software.

It’s really not that difficult to load a set of extensions - and actually it keeps OpenGL very flexible (with modern functionality) by doing it this way.

I second the motion for an official simplified extension loader. GLEW won’t static link under MinGW, kicking compile time up 5-10 seconds depending upon platform and GLEE doesn’t support >3.0.
