since I want to start on developing shaders with opengl I need some good resources to start with. could you recommend some books or web sites

Clockwork Tutorials (http://www.clockworkcoders.com/oglsl/tutorials.html)
3D Shaders.com (http://www.3dshaders.com/) Home of the Orange GLSL Book. The following two chapters are online and well worth reading.

thanks I ordered myself the opengl shading manual yesterday - all what is missing is a opengl 2.0 compliant graphic card :) but this is in the pipe
