Quadro vs Geforce -- OpenGL support

How do the Quadro and Geforce products compare regarding their OpenGL support from a developper’s point of view? Are there extensions only available on the Quadro? Or some features or extensions that simply work better (i.e. less bugs, more complete, etc.) on the Quadro?

Also, when using two of such cards in SLI mode, can we get all SLI benefits through OpenGL on both types of cards?

Note: I am mostly interrested in the XP-32bit
drivers.

Thanks,

Ozo.

There is not much difference in Quadro support
(from my point of view).

Quadro cards have few more features. Like overlay planes.

There also some HW features available only for Quadro, like support for TV broadcast output or framelock.

If you need fast readback (glReadPixel) then Quadro is a must.

You can buy the same Quadro card for longer period of time. They do not come up with new model every month. If you solution is tuned for particular chip/card then stay longer with it.

Has something dramatic changed since this document was published?
OpenGL PBO performance

Not sure if it’s dramatic, but you can do readback over 2GB/sec on Q4500.
