More of an ICD aspect

From my point of view, with the newest extensions like register combiners and vertex programs, I think it may take a while before we fully use all of the actual OpenGL capabilities. I don’t really see what could be useful in a future OpenGL version except for some extensions getting standard : multitexture, occlusion testing at object level (like HP_occlusion_test), compressed textures. What would be really nice is that all card vendors start shipping fully accelerated OGL ICDs : accumulation buffer (practically unsable on common 3D cards), color operations and even the OGL 1.2 imaging subset.
