does any one know where i can get some tutorial regarding drawing a recursive tree in openGL?

What do you mean by recursive tree?

Do you mean an octree for partitioning your scene objects?
Do you mean a scene graph?
Maybe you should look for octrees on the web there are plenty of tutorials out there, or post your question to the beginners forum not the linux one http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif))

Maybe he means a recursive, fractal tree? like a green leafy thing?

yeah, i mean any tree that has leaves. like oak tree or coconut tree etc.
