Alien Flux now works on Nvidia, ATI, Intel, and even Voodoo (!) cards with the right drivers.
But does it work on any Matrox G-series cards? Does it ****.
All we’re asking for is 800x600x16, and 16 bit colour, no alpha, no depth, no stencil. And it doesn’t bloody work at all.
Has anybody any experience whatsoever with Matrox cards who might be able to tell me what’s broken and why?

Whats fails? Does it even run? Do you have lots of gl error trapping in the code?

I take it it fails to provide you with a hardware accelerated pixel format?
In which case, try requesting 32 bit colour, and a depth buffer.
It that’s all you need enumerate your pixel formats and look at them. One other option you have is to request size 1 for many of the attributes and it’ll give you the largest available, but looking at them all and selecting a likely candidate is best.
