OGL extensions questions

Recently i was looking on extensions reported by my GTS in both modes, emulated (BoomBoom) and normal. Besides the fact that emulated mode has more extensions than normal mode, it also lacks one extension: GL_NV_texgen_emboss (for emboss
bump-mapping). Does this mean that GF3 doesn’t support this extension and if it doesn’t this also means that GF3 won’t have compatibility with “older” applications?
One more thing, in emulated mode the reported number of texture units is 4; i know this are emulated through register_combiners2 extension, but it uses the two available units or not?

Texgen emboss is not supported by GF3. Read the extensions document for this kind of info.
