I had some experience with Iris Performer few years ago, so what I know may not be updated.
Since Iris Performer is SGI’s product, sgi.com is the first place to go.
I also recommend you to take a look: http://www.multigen.com/products/vega1.htm
which is built on top of Iris Performer.
Iris Performer’s mailing list was a fairly high traffic list back few years ago, I don’t how it does nowadays, but it is simply because I changed my job since then.
Probably the most successful scene graph API in Vis Simm and definitely the most successful SGI’s scene graph API .
