Someone have something about converting/sharing RenderMan shaders and OPENGL shaders ?

OK, this is two very differents API ...

But RenderMan seem to have already **a lot** a very good shader, and can generate beautifull and ultra-realistic scene http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

Check out ATI's Ashli Demo (http://www2.ati.com/misc/demos/ashlidemosetup-1.1.0.msi) . It's basically an effects viewer type of program that contains a bunch of RenderMan shaders that get rendered in realtime. It can compile the RenderMan shaders into DirectX 9's PS2.0 and OpenGL's ARB_fragment_program.

Being an ATI demo, it is obviously was built for the R3xx series of video cards, though. I have no idea on what the results (quality or speed) of running it on GeforceFXs would be. . .

EDIT: here's a link to the SigGraph notes on the subject:

EDIT (again): I hope ATI implements such a compiler into RenderMonkey sometime. . . http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

I check almost all GL examples - looks like some of them use UberBuffers which is not supported in NV3x/45.23/W2k...

Speed sometimes very slow...
