I have image information (pixels, color, depth, etc)in the ASCII file. I wanted to display image in the openGL without creating bitmap (BMP) fle using the ASCII file. Is it possible in OpenGL and how? i.e. Can we write directly to openGL frame buffer? please help me .....

You can write raw image data to the framebuffer using the glDrawPixels function, but you might get better performance when you upload your data as texture and draw a fullscreen quad.

This is not really an advanced question, please post to the beginner board next time.
