Multiple 3D Texture on different texture unit question

I try to define multiple 3D texture objects on different texture unit on ATI 8500 card with latest driver. The 3D texture object on texture unit 0 is working fine, but second 3D texture object on texture unit 2 is not working. I am not sure if the driver supports multiple 3D texture objects on different texture units. I remember I read an article talking about 3D texture will take two texture units to define about a year ago. Is that still true? Thanks for any information.

That was true on Radeon classic. On Radeon 8500 it’s fully ortogonal though, that is you should be able to use up to six 3d textures.

I hope you are right Humus. I, too, thought it was the original Radeon that had this limitation but I’ve had this problem as well. Not by using more than one 3D texture but by not being able to use the following texture unit at all ( implying that a 3D texture takes up two texture units ). I hope this is just a bug ( I do have a workaround but those are starting to pile up ).
