View Full Version : Are quads rendered as fast as triangles

I thought the video cards where optimized for triangles. I'm new. That's just what a read in one book. What do you know about this? http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

You can probably bet that quads are rendered by the driver as 2 triangles anyway, so they should be just as fast.

It's better to work with triangles. With my card I had problems with working with quads. But this is a thing that is about each card. But the standard is working with triangles.

3D accelerators loves Triangles strips (or fans)...
Check out on 3d hardware sites, they should tell you what the favorite input of todays 3d cards.
