I got a peak performance drop when changing to the newest driver. It is a fx5900ultra card. When rendering strips using VBO, no textures, no fp, I get 70Mtris/sec. Before it was 120 Mtris/sec. What could the reason be?

Did you disable vsync after new driver install? Anyway… which drivers you use before and now?

It is not vsync related. I think the previous driver was version 45. The newest is 56.72.
If using shorts instead of floats for vertices, performance is back as previously, so I guess it is memory bandwidth related, as if the VBO is in slow memory.
Same thing under Linux too.
