quadtree terrain

I am trying to create a quadtree based terrain for a “data driven” game.
I understand how to create the quadtree but am a little fuzzy on the terrain. Here is a sample of the terrain where 0’s are a valid portion of the race track and 1’s are out of bounds.

one idea was to simpily make a heightfield terrain off of this data and set the y coords to 0. any ideas?

What, exactly, is it that you have trouble with?

You’re gone be using a paint program or something to create your track? Use a modeling package or create a simple one yourself.

Anyway, if you know how to convert that thing to a heightfield and texture it right …
