Any good Mapfileformat ?

Hi, I’m coding an OpenGL Engine and for now, it works good (for 3 days work).

Now it’s time to include something like Mapfiles to test some features.

What Mapfileformat do you use ?

What easy to read Mapfileformats are there that have an useful editor ?

The Quake3 BSP format is nice though not that simple to parse. But you can get good editors and tools for it.

Unofficial specs are here , look out for Q3Radiant or GtkRadiant as editors, or simply hit planetquake and look for something like ‘mapping tools’ or so.

Yeah, I thought of that, but I haven’t found the specs. I’m a hobby-quake player and newbie map designer

The easiest map file format I can think of is ASE files. Many 3D modelling programs can export ASE files.
