Neither - Glide . . . .
. . . That's what UT was designed and built around . . . on Glide it'll even run on a plain Voodoo 1.
But if you ain't got a 3Dfx card I would have to say D3D - I know people who have had problems with the OpenGL drivers, but it all depends on the card . . . If you can get OpenGL to run use it . . . Yeah, i would recommend D3D too...
It loads up VERY quickly, unlike the opengl version. Resolution change and the lot is a lot quicker too...
It depends on your tolerance for the dotty image quality of D3D though...
