Can an aplication made using openGL run in a system without an OpenGL video card? ( in windows)

Has OpenGL a software emulation ?

Yes, i do stuff on my laptop all the time. It’s slow but hey whatever works. Also some extensions may not work. Mostly it runs fine.

OpenGL will work in two modes software and hardware rendering.
If video card does not have hardware support it runs in 100% software rendering.

On cards with hardware support will use hardware. Also may use software if hardware does not support the function being used.
