Argh, the advanced forum is down, anyway.

Has anyone read or heard anything about the new book recently released called
“The OpenGL Shading Language”? Im thinking of buying it. So yeah, any comments on the book?

The OpenGL Shading Language book is a book I would recommend to anyone starting with GLSL. It covers the specs (as far as I could tell) and gives nice shader examples. It also covers the C/C++ aspect of shader programming. It is clear and concise. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

If you already know all the GLSL related specs the book is still useful as a reference.

On this related topic, when can we expect decent GLSL support from Nvidia and ATI. I do not mean 100%, but certainly say 60-70% without major problems.

For now, it seems GLSL is worthless. Factor in the problem of getting the user base to download drivers, especially for non gamers, power users. When will GLSL be here seriously?
