View Full Version : vertex shading huge performance hit?

My geforce 4200 ti is getting hit hard if i use colored smooth shading on a textured landscape of 20,000 triangles.

I've done 20,000 textured triangles with lighting and 160,000 plain textured triangles without a prolem.

Is vertex coloring really such an expensive operation?
