OpenGL v1.0: No Figure of Tetrahedron appeared on PC Screen

Hi all,

In the attached OpenGL v1.0 code, I tried to create a tetrahedron on my VC++
7.0-Win 32 PC.
I did “Build” successfully. But I could not get the figure of Tetrahedron
appeared on my PC screen. I debugged it and I got the following error
mesages:

Please help and advise me (1) what is wrong with my program code, (2) why I
can not get

the Tetrahedron figure appeared on my PC screen, (3) how to correct the
problems in my programm.

Thanks in advance,

Scott Chang

I’ve seen two errors in the code:
1.) Your ModelView setup is not moving the data into view. The glTranslatef() you commented out is the reason. You need to move the object into view by moving the viewer back in z.
2.) The glEnd() is missing after the second triangle. This will generate an invalid_operation, but should still draw the right triangles, because you could put all four triangles in one GL_TRIANGLES primitive.

If you have other problems, start developing with fullscreen = FALSE.

Hi Relic, Thanks for your help.
I re-used the following:
glLoadIdentity();
glTranslatef(-1.5f,0.0f,-6.0f);
and put the glEnd (); after the 2nd Triangle.
I did “Build” and “Start without Debugging” successfully. A figure with 3 colors of blue, green and red appeared on the screen. But the figure can not be turned, when I press the left button of the mouse and drag the curser on the figure around. It is not what it should be - I want to see the 4 colors of the figure when I press the mouse and drag the figure around. I do not know what commands I should add to make it works the way I want. Please help and advise again.
