Hey, I need some help. I am really wanting to learn Game programming and Engine design. But I need to learn some of the basics. I am currently using MS Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition. I am looking for some good tutorials. Mostly easy to understand. I have been to NeHe, and I am currently reading his tutorials. Also, any books and such that are good too. Thanks, Later
i'm a newbie too!! but i've done a bit so i can help you. NeHe rocks but along i suggest that you begin coding with glut to spare yourself all the win32 code.
here are some links you might find useful http://opengl.gamedev.net/files/glutdlls37.zip
the 3ds converter i use:- http://www.xdsoft.com/explorer/
the sound lib i use:- http://www.fmod.org/download.htm

The best book is the "red book" that can be downloaded from gamedev. Not the latest edition and perhaps not so easy but really good.
If you are using Windows a good starting point is also NeHe (http://nehe.gamedev.net),
check also GameDev (http://www.gamedev.net), FlipCode (http://www.flipcode.com)
Of course u can also give a look at mine site http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif
