What is the difference between prospecteve and orthographic?

Perspective projection is simply the further an object is from the camera the smaller it gets.

Orthographic projection the distance of an object from the camera doesnt effect how large that object appears.

Why do I often see (and in copy-pasted in my code) both perpective and ortho calls in the init routine?
