A Good Book...

Does anybody know a good book for beginners.
I’ve heard good things about the Opengl superbible, and others, but what do experienced users actually recommend???
Any ideas??

I’ve never seen the Superbible, though I’ve heard good things about it.

But the de-facto book is the OpenGL Programming Guide from Addison Wesley. Commonly called the RedBook.
I beleive you can order it (and any of it’s companions) from this site. But any local book store may have it, or can order it.

I recently bought the OpenGl Superbible about 3 days ago and so far i find it to be well detailed and easy to understand… although i’m having lots of trouble with setting up GLUT… if u can help me with this please e-mail me!!!

Fork out the dough and buy both the Red Book and the Superbible. Its worth it. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but between the two you get most everything. My experience anyway.

  1. OpenGL Programming Guide: The Official Guide to Learning OpenGL Version
    1.2; Third Edition

  2. Superbible

#1 is most recommended by people at Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science!!!
