Hi http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

Are there any downloadable programs for the design, editing and viewing of models?

I saw a few references to a program called "3d explorer" but I can't find it anywhere. http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/frown.gif

I am interesed in creating very simple models with triangle meshes (I hope i'm using the correct terminology here) like:
1.03 -1 -1 -1.07 -1 1 -1.09 1 -1
or with color:
-1 0.10 0.00 0.10 0.20 0.00 0.30 1 0.00 .8f .3f .3f .8f .3f .3f .8f .3f .3f

PS: Is the .RAW format the format that I just described? http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/confused.gif

There are many. Use google to search for "3D free modeller".

I don't know how good it is, and I've never used it, but it is a start. http://www.anim8or.com/ I don't know what kind of formats it supports as for file types, if any, but, there are probably many more out there.

MilkShape is the best. But it is a 30 day trial version.

Is everyone using MilkShape here? If any of you has a different favorite modeler, would you like to mention it?

Milkshape is prolly your best bet for what you're looking for. fast, cheap and great for low-poly models. also, for anyone looking to write plugins for Milkshape, I've made a Milkshape Plugin AppWizard for Visual C++. you can download it [ here (http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/forum/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=8762) ]
