I believe that texture fonts are very better that the bitmap fonts:
1.Bitmap fonts can vary from one operating system to another operating system(as an example from win98 to winxp)
2.The quality of texture fonts is very better than the bitmap fonts
If i am correct, so why do you need to use from the bitmap fonts?

Historycally, drawing a textured quad was slower that drawing bitmap directly.
Currently it is no longer the case.
