Every time I run Quake III I get the following console error

I have installed and reinstalled direct-x 8.1 and my Graphic card drivers a dozen times ,even changed the registry entry for it(recommended by another website) but then the error just changes to ‘Q_strncpyz: NULL src’
I’m using
win 2000 sp3
Motherboard>KR7A-RAID (with 4in1 update)
AMD 1.1g processor
Nvidia Geforce 3
512 mb ram
20 gb HD
I reckon theres a problem with the nvoglnt.dll but I can’t seem to find one that will work!
Help please,this has been driving me mad!
