"Couldn't load default.cfg."

I installed call of duty to c:\programfiles\callofduty, but i still get the following error when i run the program. can anyone help?

Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok
Couldn’t load default.cfg. Make sure Call of Duty is run from the correct folder.

Sounds like a bad install… try reinstalling.

If you have an illegal copy, it is corrupted and will not install.

i have the same problem
i have a original copy, when i bought the game i’ve installed it and it worked but i had a systemcrash and needed to reinstall the computer and when i installed call off duty it came with
“couldn’t load default.cfg”
i have reinstalled it for two times in the default directory but it won’t work
can somebody help??

Did you try uninstalling, DELETING the call of duty folder, and then re-installing?

i have the same problem and have tried re-installing it like u said and i have the original copy from the box and it still doesn’t work?plz help!!!thx
